A historic step has been taken towards Türkiye's goal of complete independence in railway technologies. On October 27, 2025, the Ministry of Transport announced the establishment of the country's first railway facility under the Sakarya Regional Directorate of Turkish Rail Systems Vehicles Inc. (TÜRASAŞ). National Electric High-Speed Train Set Manufacturing and Testing Factory’It was announced that construction work has begun. This strategic investment will not only make Sakarya the heart of rail systems, but will also open the door to a new industrial era in which Türkiye will design and produce its own high-speed trains.
Minister Uraloğlu Announces Good News: Construction of the Huge Facility to be Built in Sakarya Has Officially Begun!
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, in his statement regarding the new TÜRASAŞ factory to be established in Sakarya, underlined the importance of this investment for Türkiye's railway vision. Minister Uraloğlu stated, “With this project we will realize in Sakarya, we will bring a new production center to our country. When our factory becomes operational, we will have created a large capacity for the rail systems sector, which has become one of the cornerstones of domestic and national production,” adding that the project is not just a facility, but a national industrial initiative.
Uraloğlu noted that the excavation and filling operations have been completed as part of the factory's construction work, and shared the information that the foundation laying process will begin shortly after the ground improvement works are completed.

New Hub for Rail Systems: 15,000 Square Meter National High-Speed Train Production and Testing Center
Minister Uraloğlu also provided important information about the technical details of the new train factory to be established in Sakarya. The facility:
- Approximately 15,000 square meters It will have a large indoor area.
- Per year 12 high-speed train sets It is being designed to have production and testing capacity.
This capacity is of great importance for Türkiye, both in terms of meeting its own domestic needs and in terms of its potential to export high-speed trains bearing the "Made in Turkey" label to friendly and brotherly countries in the future.
Not Just a Factory, but National Technology Will Be Produced: The Target is Domestic Trains with a Speed of 225 Km/h
The most fundamental feature that distinguishes this factory from others is the product itself that will be manufactured within it. As Minister Uraloğlu also emphasized, in this facility... Our country's first domestically produced electric high-speed train, with a speed of 225 kilometers per hour. Many national projects, primarily those that will shape Türkiye's future in the field of rail systems, will come to fruition. This means that Türkiye will rise to the position of a country that not only builds railway lines but also operates high-tech vehicles designed and manufactured by itself on those lines.
Contribution of Billions of Lira to the Economy, Hundreds of New Jobs.
