The groundbreaking ceremony for the TÜBİTAK SAGE Environmental Testing Center Building was held with the participation of Development Minister Cevdet Yılmaz, Science, Industry and Technology Minister Fikri Işık, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Yücel Altunbaşak, TÜBİTAK Vice President Dr. M. Alper Kutay, and unit managers.

Following the groundbreaking ceremony, the Non-Destructive Testing Center, whose construction has been completed, was officially opened.

TÜBİTAK SAGE Director Erdal Çakmak stated that the Environmental Testing Center, with its 6,000 square meters of indoor space, will conduct environmental and vibration tests such as low pressure, low and high temperatures, shock temperatures, rain, frost, icing, humidity, dust, fog, and dusty atmosphere tests. Çakmak added that the project will be completed in 2016.

Providing information about the Non-Destructive Testing Center, Çakmak stated that the center can perform non-destructive testing and precise measurement processes on finished and semi-finished products using advanced x-ray imaging systems.
