The first domestically built amphibious tank landing ship, TCG Bayraktar, under the Amphibious Ship (LST) Project, has successfully completed all its tests. The contract for the project, initiated by the Undersecretariat of Defense Industry to procure two amphibious ships to meet the needs of the Naval Forces Command, was signed in 2011. All tests for the first ship, TCG Bayraktar, have been completed. In the project, where HAVELSAN implemented the command and control and combat management system, provisional acceptance was carried out on April 13th, and the warranty period has begun.
Within the scope of the project, the design, integration, and testing of a combat management system (CMS) equipped with modern sensors and weapons and possessing high command and control capabilities were successfully carried out by HAVELSAN.
During the Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT) of the ship, all combat functions were successfully tested. Direct hits were achieved in firing tests against air, land, and surface targets via the SYS system. TCG Bayraktar has been delivered to the Undersecretariat of Defence Industries/Naval Forces Command.
TCG Bayraktar was produced with 71% domestic industry support. The ship has full personnel protection against nuclear, biological, and chemical attacks. Designed with a length of 139 meters, a width of 19.60 meters, and a displacement of 7,254 tons, the ship can operate in waters shallower than 2 meters. It has a cargo capacity of 1,200 tons or various tanks, armored vehicles, and other vehicles. TCG Bayraktar can remain at sea for 30 days without resupply and travel more than 5,000 nautical miles.
The ship is equipped with a domestically produced Command and Control System and Stabilized Machine Gun Platform, as well as numerous electronic and weapon systems. With its extensive communication and electronic capabilities, TCG Bayraktar will contribute to command and control, operational, and logistical functions, and can also undertake natural disaster relief missions when needed.
