TUSAŞ is continuing the construction of Türkiye's largest and Europe's second largest subsonic wind tunnel facility, where the National Combat Aircraft will also be tested.
Within the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), the construction of Türkiye's largest and Europe's second largest subsonic wind tunnel facility is underway, aiming to conduct wind tunnel tests of aircraft using domestic and national resources. The wind tunnel is intended for use in the development of original, fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, primarily the National Combat Aircraft, and in critical sectors.
The facility, which will be operated by TUSAŞ, will conduct tests of products developed in the defense industry and other sectors, primarily the original aircraft developed by TUSAŞ, ensuring that design and test data remain within Turkey. The tunnel will have three different test sections: large, small, and open, and will be equipped with advanced technology equipment for measurement and evaluation. With its integrated mobile ground conveyor system, landing and take-off tests for aircraft will only be possible in this tunnel in Türkiye. In addition to these test capabilities, the production, integration, and instrumentation of the models to be tested can also be carried out in this facility, making significant contributions to the product development process.
