Tusaş realizes a first in Turkey with its Iron Bird facility

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) is achieving a first in Türkiye in the field of aviation by establishing the Iron Bird facility.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) aims to accelerate the development, certification, and production processes of domestic and national products with its integrated flight control system test facility called Iron Bird.

Scheduled to become operational in February 2022, the facility will be a first in the aviation sector in Türkiye.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), which continues its infrastructure work to facilitate project development, will provide a strong infrastructure with the Demir Kuş facility, whose construction has begun, for the integrated testing and verification of critical systems, especially those of HÜRJET and its different configurations. The capabilities gained will also be used for the National Combat Aircraft, which is called Türkiye's survival project. All flight-critical equipment to be used on the aircraft will be tested at the test facility designed and planned by TAI engineers.

The systems to be tested include Flight Control System, Hydraulic System, Landing Gear System, Electrical System (simulation and real), Simplified Cockpit, and Avionics Systems. The facility, which will employ approximately 50 people, is expected to operate for over 30 years.
