The Presidency of the Republic of Turkey's Defence Industries Directorate (SSB) and ASELSAN have signed a contract for the Medium Class Level 2 Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) Project.
The project involves the development and mass production of an unmanned ground vehicle capable of reconnaissance, surveillance, and target detection, equipped with weapon systems and other necessary systems, remotely controlled, and operated autonomously, possessing superior mobility.
The role of unmanned systems in the defense and security sector is increasing day by day. Especially in asymmetric warfare conditions, there is a need for unmanned systems that can operate on land, sea, or air and make their own decisions to carry out reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence gathering, defense, logistical support, and similar activities quickly and effectively without personnel loss.
