Vestel Karayel, Türkiye's most original unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Vestel Defense Industry, has been armed.
The Vestel Karayel, which took off from Konya 3rd Main Jet Base Command, hit its MAM-L missile target perfectly from an altitude of 5,000 meters, earning top marks from observers.
The Vestel Karayel Tactical UAV System is the first and only Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle designed and manufactured according to NATO's 'Airworthiness in Civil Airspace' Standard STANAG-4671 for reconnaissance and surveillance purposes. The Vestel Karayel system features a unique triple-redundant distributed avionics architecture that provides protection against all types of uncontrolled crashes. With this feature, Vestel has, for the first time in the world, brought systematic failover safety, previously used only in manned aviation, to an unmanned aerial vehicle with the Vestel Karayel. Thanks to the aluminum mesh on its composite structure, the aircraft has lightning protection. It utilizes an 'Icing System' that automatically detects and activates in case of icing conditions. With this feature, Karayel demonstrates durability against all weather conditions and exhibits superior performance in harsh weather. Equipped with a camera system for aerial reconnaissance and surveillance, it has the capability to detect and identify targets and direct laser-guided munitions using its onboard designator systems.
