Undersecretary of Defence Industries İsmail Demir announced on his Twitter account that the delivery of 498 ULAK GSM base stations, developed within the scope of the SSM R&D project, will be completed in August 2018.
Within the scope of the Fourth Generation (4G/LTE) Communication Technology Development Project;
R&D studies are being conducted in the fields of Commercial/Public Security 4.5G (LTE Advanced) Base Station, Tetra Base Station and LTE/TETRA/APCO/DMR Integration, and LTE-Based Military Communication System. This will ensure the development of 4.5G communication technologies using national resources and capabilities. A Letter of Intent regarding the use of the ULAK base station in Public Security and Emergency Assistance Communication infrastructures has been signed between ASELSAN and SSM.
