The Japanese Kyodo news agency reported that Toshiba is in talks with Arçelik for the sale of its home appliances unit. Following the news, Arçelik shares rose by %5.5% to 18.65 TL.
Arçelik announced that it evaluates investment alternatives in line with its growth strategy at every stage.
In a statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) last night, it was said: “News reports have appeared in the media stating that our company is in talks regarding a new acquisition. In line with its growth strategy, our company evaluates investment alternatives at all times. While the ongoing discussions are not considered by us to be of a nature requiring a special disclosure statement, this statement is being made at the request of the Capital Markets Board due to the news reports on this matter.”.
