ASELSAN has signed a new collaboration agreement with BAYKAR Makina, one of Türkiye's leading defense industry companies.
A contract worth $17.6 million for the delivery of Electro-Optical Systems was signed between the companies. Under this contract, ASELSAN will supply the CATS camera, developed by BAYKAR Makina for the domestically produced UAVs. CATS is notable as a national technology product of Türkiye, which supported Azerbaijan in Karabakh despite the Canadian embargo. CATS has been exported to 12 different countries to date, contributing to Türkiye's defense industry exports.
What is the CATS Camera System?
CATS, which stands for Common Aperture Targeting System, is an electro-optical system. Developed by ASELSAN, this system is designed to enhance the target detection and tracking capabilities of UAVs. CATS features high-resolution imaging, night vision, a laser designator, and a laser rangefinder. CATS also enables UAVs to fly in various weather conditions and at low altitudes.
