The Infrared Search and Tracking System PIRI-KATS, developed by Aselsan, has completed its factory acceptance tests and is ready for integration into the TCG Anadolu ship.
According to a report by Anadolu Agency, the TCG Anadolu, which holds the distinction of being Türkiye's largest military ship, will be able to track enemy elements in all weather conditions with the Aselsan Infrared Search and Tracking System, whose factory acceptance tests have been completed.
What is PIRI-KATS (Infrared Call Tracking System)?
PIRI (Panoramic Infrared Imaging) – KATS (Infrared Search and Tracking System) is a high-performance infrared search and tracking system developed for naval platforms to passively detect and track aircraft, sea vehicles, and missiles.
PIRI provides continuous protection against threats thanks to its constantly monitoring sensors. With its simultaneous dual-band IR imaging capability and large field of view in all weather and lighting conditions, it offers a complete protection and warning system against all threats. It features 360° panoramic MWIR and LWIR imaging along the lateral axis and a distributed sensor architecture, making it adaptable to all platforms.
TCG Anadolu Ship
The Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship TCG ANADOLU is a ship capable of transporting one amphibious battalion and the necessary combat and support vehicles to crisis zones without main base support, participating in amphibious landing operations with the landing craft it carries in its dock, and having a flight deck that will allow the heaviest NATO helicopters and Osprey rotary-wing aircraft in the inventory to operate day and night.
Planned to be built with a fully loaded displacement of 27,436 tons and a length of 231 meters, the Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship TCG ANADOLU will be the largest naval platform in the inventory of our Armed Forces.
