Türkiye's first offensive unmanned aerial vehicle, AKINCI B, has once again become a topic of discussion thanks to a post on Baykar Technology's social media account. During ongoing tests with its new engines, the AKINCI TİHA system was able to safely fly at an altitude of 40,000 feet.

Bayraktar AKINCI B will be able to fly outside the range of air defense systems.

Powered by its new 750 horsepower engines, the AKINCI TİHA, flying at an altitude of 40,000 feet, looks set to become a nightmare for low-altitude air defense systems. Considering that the Pantsir S1 system can only intercept targets at altitudes of 12 to 15 km from a distance of 20-30 km, the AKINCI TİHA, reaching an altitude of approximately 12 km at 40,000 feet, will be able to attack these systems from outside their range, i.e., from a safe distance, using Roketsan-produced MAM-T smart munitions.

What is the Baykar AKINCI TİHA?

Longer and wider than the Bayraktar TB2, the Akıncı UAV will have a wingspan of 20 meters thanks to its unique twisted wing structure and will be able to carry numerous domestically produced smart munitions. Akıncı will also be smarter and more aware of environmental conditions thanks to its unique artificial intelligence system, offering its users advanced flight and diagnostic functions.

The Akıncı, aiming to be a leader in its class like the Bayraktar TB2, will also perform some of the tasks carried out by fighter jets. It will operate with much more advanced payloads, including an electronic support pod, satellite communication systems, air-to-air radars, obstacle detection radar, and synthetic aperture radar. Reducing the workload of fighter jets, the Akıncı will also be capable of aerial bombardment. Equipped with domestically developed air-to-air missiles, the Akıncı UAV will also be usable in air-to-air missions.

The Bayraktar Akıncı Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System, which is being developed to become the world's most technologically advanced system in its class, will be equipped with domestically produced munitions, missiles, and bombs such as MAM-L, MAM-C, Cirit, L-UMTAS, Bozok, MK-81, MK-82, MK-83, Winged Guidance Kit (KGK)-MK-82, Gökdoğan, Bozdoğan, and SOM-A.
