Baykar, one of Türkiye's leading defense companies, achieved a significant success today with its remotely controlled unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), Bayraktar TB3, during its 46th flight test. In a "ramp takeoff test" conducted under conditions similar to those on the TCG Anadolu ship, the Bayraktar TB3 successfully took off four times.
With its foldable wings, the Bayraktar TB3 is the world's first armed unmanned aerial vehicle capable of taking off and landing from short runways, such as those of the TCG Anadolu. Baykar Technology Leader Selçuk Bayraktar announced that tests will begin from the TCG Anadolu ship this year.
The successful launch tests of the Bayraktar TB3 are expected to play a significant role in reconnaissance/surveillance, intelligence, and attack missions that will enhance Türkiye's deterrent power.
