The Rotary Wing Technology Center (RWTC) Projects Contract Signing Ceremony took place on December 22, 2014, at the TUSAŞ-Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) facilities.
The ceremony was attended by many officials, including the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence Industries, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, the General Manager of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, Fikri Gönültaş, as well as rectors and vice-rectors of universities.
Speaking at the ceremony, TUSAŞ General Manager Muharrem Dörtkaşlı stated that the Rotary Wing Technology Center, established in the TUSAŞ Technopark region to improve university-industry cooperation and train the human resources needed by the sector, aims to be a structure that researches new technologies that will make a difference in TUSAŞ products in helicopter technologies and activates the existing research potential in universities with the flexibility and dynamism of the industry.
Within the scope of the Original Helicopter Program Contract signed between the Undersecretariat of Defence Industries (SSM) and TUSAŞ on June 26, 2013, the Rotary Wing Technology Center (DKTM) was established at the TUSAŞ METU Technopark facilities. The purpose of DKTM is to research and acquire future technologies in the field of helicopters, to improve university-industry cooperation, and to contribute to the development of trained human resources in helicopter technologies in the long term. DKTM was established with the aim of developing technologies that do not exist in the world or are inaccessible in our country.
