BMC has introduced its low-floor Procity urban public transport bus, manufactured in accordance with European Union standards for urban public transport, to the people of Istanbul for the first time through IETT (Istanbul Electric Tramway and Tunnel Company).

The bus, delivered to the IETT Anadolu Garage and beginning trial runs between Kadıköy and Cevizlibağ, managed to attract significant passenger interest on its very first journey. Manufactured by BMC using advanced technology, the Procity is equipped with an optional Euro 2-3 turbo intercooler powerful engine and ABS/ASR systems. Its adjustable driver's seat enhances road control and ensures a safer driving experience.

In addition to its low chassis and step-free floor, it also offers easy boarding and alighting thanks to its tilting feature. Equipped with an automatic transmission, the bus also provides a digital route display and a spacious interior, allowing for scenic views. The Procity has a capacity of 34 seated and 61 standing passengers, in addition to the driver. It also has a ramp for disabled passengers. Passengers we spoke to about the bus, which is currently in trial service, unanimously agreed: “The seats are truly very comfortable. The fabric of the seats is also very high quality. We can tell this immediately at first glance. Frankly, we are proud that a domestic manufacturer is producing such a comfortable and passenger-focused vehicle. It's immediately clear that it's designed for a comfortable and enjoyable journey, in contrast to the stiff seats we've been used to for years.” BMC officials are pleased with the public's interest in the bus that has been put into service.
