The Gür-class submarine has a single-bay robust hull, four ballast tanks, and bow and stern trim tanks.
These submarines are equipped with the Omega Navigation System, an integrated fire control system with active, passive and intercept sonar systems, a cavitation and noise measurement system, and an underwater telephone.
Development Phase
To date, the Gölcük Shipyard Command has completed the construction of the 1,200-ton TCG YILDIRAY, TCG DOLUNAY, and TCG DOĞANAY, as well as the 1,400-ton TCG PREVEZE, TCG SAKARYA, TCG 18 MART, and TCG ANAFARTALAR, all of which have entered service with the Naval Forces Command. The four 1,400-ton GÜR-class submarines currently under construction – TCG GÜR, TCG ÇANAKKALE, TCG BURAKREİS, and TCG I.İNÖNÜ – are scheduled for delivery in April 2004, December 2004, December 2005, and October 2006, respectively.
