TÜBİTAK SAGE director Gürcan Okumuş shared the news on his social media account that the service (HABRAS), which was previously purchased for millions of dollars, is now being exported abroad.
What is HABRAS?
Construction of HABRAS began in June 2017, and the first trial test of the infrastructure was conducted in May 2018. Yapı Merkezi-Yapı Ray company participated in the construction of HABRAS as a solution partner of TÜBİTAK SAGE.
At HABRAS, loads weighing over 1 ton can be accelerated to speeds of approximately Mach 1.50, providing a dynamic testing environment for ammunition systems/subsystems.
The HABRAS Target Ballistics Dynamic Test Infrastructure aims to enable high-speed, controlled testing of warheads and aircraft seat ejection systems/subsystems for military and civilian applications, particularly meeting the testing needs of defense industry companies working on medium and heavy caliber ammunition. With its 2000-meter length, HABRAS boasts the longest double-track test line in Europe.
