Turkish defense industry company Nurol Makina has signed an agreement to manufacture the Gidrán armored combat vehicle in Hungary.
Nurol Makina Hungary, N7 National Defense Industry Innovation Holding, and Rába Automotive Holding were also included in the agreement. Defense Minister Szalay-Borbovniczky attended the signing ceremony.
The agreement aims not only to meet the needs of the Hungarian Defence Forces but also to create an export product. Under the agreement, not only production and assembly but also research and innovation activities will be carried out in Hungary. The agreement is expected to create at least 200 new jobs and integrate into a wide network of suppliers.
What is a Gidran and what are its characteristics?
Gidrán is a Hungarian-made version of the Turkish-made Ejder Yalçın 4X4 tactical wheeled vehicle. Designed for the Hungarian Defence Forces, Gidrán is also an armored vehicle with export potential. Gidrán's specifications are as follows:
