Otokar, one of the leading companies in the Turkish bus market, continues its growth in Europe. Otokar's self-designed and manufactured electric minibus, e-Centro, will provide public transportation services in six different cities in Italy.
Otokar announced it has received an order for 29 electric e-Centro minibuses from Italy. This order demonstrates Otokar's growth in the European market and its commitment to providing sustainable transportation solutions. Electric minibuses stand out as a zero-emission, quiet, economical, and comfortable alternative for public transportation.
Otokar Commercial Vehicles Deputy General Manager Kerem Erman stated, “With our 60 years of experience in the sector, tens of thousands of vehicles we produce serve millions of passengers every day around the world. As a result of the promotional activities we carried out mainly in Europe last year, the e-Centro buses were very well received. We have a wide family of electric buses that meet different needs, from historical cities with narrow streets and tourist areas to metropolises that require high passenger traffic. The export of our zero-emission vehicles will continue to increase.”.

Otokar's electric minibus, e-Centro, stands out as a modern, environmentally friendly, and economical solution for historical sites, tourist cities with narrow streets, and zero-emission zones thanks to its compact dimensions. Its electric motor, with a maximum power of 200 kW and a maximum torque of 1200 Nm, maintains its performance even on the steepest inclines. Its lightweight design and high maneuverability make it a solution for efficient public transportation services.
Otokar's electric minibuses will first begin service on the streets of Rome next year. In the second half of 2024, bus operators in Siracusa, Salerno, Reggio Calabria, Cagliari, and Palermo will be able to enjoy Otokar comfort.
