Türkiye's Supersonic Missile Success: AKINCI Launches 55 km Range UAV-122 in Sinop

Bayraktar AKINCI successfully launched the IHA-122 supersonic missile, which has a range of 55 kilometers.

Türkiye's domestically produced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), Bayraktar AKINCI, successfully fired the IHA-122 supersonic missile, which has a range of 55 kilometers, in Sinop. This test is considered one of the important steps demonstrating Türkiye's progress in the defense industry.

IHA-122 is an air-to-air missile developed by Roketsan that can reach speeds of Mach 1.8. The missile is designed to be effective against both stationary and moving targets.

Bayraktar AKINCI is known as Türkiye's most advanced UAV. AKINCI is a platform capable of staying airborne for 24 hours, reaching an altitude of 40,000 feet, and carrying a payload of 1,350 kilograms. AKINCI also possesses advanced systems such as radar, electronic warfare, signal intelligence, laser target designator, and satellite communication.

ROKETSAN UAV-122 Missile

The IHA-122 is a supersonic air-to-air missile developed by Roketsan and launched from the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). The missile is designed to reach speeds of Mach 1.8 and be effective against both stationary and moving targets. Its range, diameter, and weight have not yet been announced. The IHA-122 is considered a significant achievement in Türkiye's defense industry as the country's first air-to-ground supersonic missile.
