The domestically produced X-ray device, developed by ASELSAN, has been put into use for the first time in the new terminal building of Gaziantep Airport, which was inaugurated with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
X-ray baggage screening devices, used for security purposes, are critically important in ensuring the security of many facilities such as airports, ports, border crossings, customs offices, and government buildings. The newly developed domestic X-ray devices were delivered to the General Directorate of State Airports Authority for use at Gaziantep Airport.
The first delivery of the ARIN X-Ray Baggage Control Devices, developed domestically by ASELSAN and HTR using national resources in a short period of 11 months, was made to the new terminal building of Gaziantep Airport.
A contract for the supply and installation of 30 dual-angle X-ray baggage screening devices for DHMI was signed between ASELSAN and DHMI on December 14, 2020. 18 of these ASELSAN ARIN X-ray baggage screening devices, jointly developed by ASELSAN and HTR, were delivered to the new terminal building of Gaziantep Airport, which was inaugurated by President Erdoğan on December 25, 2021.
ASELSAN ARIN X-Ray Baggage Control Devices are capable of differentiating organic, inorganic, and metallic substances based on their effective atomic number and displaying them in 6 colors. The devices feature automatic explosive detection, high-density area imaging, high-density alarm, zoom capability in density (color and black and white), organic stripping, automatic geometric and radiometric correction functions, camera monitoring of tunnel entrances and exits, and an expandable fictional threat library.
As part of the project, 12 ASELSAN ARIN X-Ray Baggage Control Devices will also be delivered to the new terminal building of Tokat Airport in 2022.
