Following the completion of ground and taxi tests, HÜRKUŞ successfully performed its "First Flight" at TUSAŞ's Kazan facilities on August 29, 2013.
The HÜRKUŞ Development Program was launched with an agreement signed between the Undersecretariat of Defence Industry and TUSAŞ in March 2006.
TUSAŞ has received Design Organization Certification from the European Aviation Authority (EASA) for its HÜRKUŞ training aircraft.
The assembly and production of HÜRKUŞ were completed, and it was rolled out of the hangar at a ceremony held at TUSAŞ's Kazan facilities on June 27, 2012.
The first assembly of Hürkuş was carried out by the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Gönül, the Minister of Transport, Mr. Yıldırım, the Undersecretary, the Acting General Director of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, and representatives from the Ministry of National Defense and the Armed Forces.
The first component production process for the Turkish Initial and Basic Training Aircraft (Hürkuş) has also been completed.
The conceptual design of the Turkish primary and basic training aircraft Hürkuş has been approved.
