The first delivery of the AKINCI TİHA, which was started to be developed by Baykar Defense four years ago, to the Turkish army took place in Çorlu with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The delivery of the AKINCI TİHA unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and the graduation ceremony for the UAV pilot training, held in Çorlu, was attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and many other high-ranking state officials. The AKINCI TİHA, capable of carrying long-range smart munitions like the SOM, along with many other smart munitions, will significantly increase the Turkish Armed Forces' ability to conduct unmanned aerial operations once it enters the inventory.
With the addition of AESA nose radar and the Gökdoğan and Bozdoğan missiles, the AKINCI TİHA, which will also be capable of air-to-air operations, will, in the future, enter the Turkish Armed Forces' inventory, giving the Turkish army an operational capability possessed by very few armies in the world.
