TUSAŞ is making another major investment to conduct radar cross-section tests required for the National Combat Aircraft and other unique platforms under development.
With its current capacity and capabilities, Türkiye's largest and the world's 5th largest radar cross-section testing facility is targeted to begin operations in the second quarter of 2024.
Designed to determine the radar visibility and size of the National Combat Aircraft, the Radar Cross-Section Test Facility will be one of the most modern facilities in the world in this field, thanks to its state-of-the-art infrastructure. The facility, which will contribute to the platform's design work, will also determine the amount of reflection of radar signals, which are electromagnetic waves. Thus, the low radar visibility characteristic of the National Combat Aircraft will be confirmed as a result of the tests conducted.
Expressing his views on Türkiye's largest radar cross-section test facility in terms of platform size and measurement accuracy, Turkish Aerospace Industries General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil said, “We continue to make major investments that will free our country from external dependence in the field of aviation. In this context, the radar cross-section test facility, whose construction we will start soon, will be one of the most advanced facilities in the world in this field with the technology it incorporates. Thus, we will carry out another important test for our National Combat Aircraft platform in our country with national resources. We will continue to contribute to our country's independent aviation ecosystem.”.
