The first domestically produced solar-powered vehicles, developed by Adıyaman University Faculty of Technology and attracting significant attention at the Istanbul Auto Show, are being prepared for mass production.
Vehicles with zero fuel cost as long as the sun is shining can travel 150 km at night using the solar energy they store during the day.
Orders have begun to arrive from various parts of the world for the two vehicles named Fırat and Commagene, which were introduced to the public two months ago under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Turhan Koyuncu, Dean of the Faculty of Technology at Adıyaman University. These vehicles were unveiled at the Istanbul CNR International Fairgrounds by MÜSİAD, thanks to the initiatives of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan.
Dean Prof. Dr. Turhan Koyuncu stated that they have received nearly a thousand orders for the cars placed at the entrance gate as a symbol, even from Cameroon, and added, "Following this interest, we have started working on reducing costs by moving to mass production. We are evaluating collaboration offers for mass production.".
