With the full-size static test it will conduct on the GÖKBEY helicopter, TUSAŞ will be carrying out the most comprehensive and largest test in Türkiye for the first time.
While TUSAŞ continues the certification tests of the GÖKBEY prototype helicopter, it is also preparing for Türkiye's most comprehensive and largest structural testing project. These tests will assess the helicopter's structural integrity, aiming to identify potential problems in advance.
GÖKBEY Helicopter
The Indigenous Helicopter Program, which aims to meet the general-purpose helicopter needs of the Turkish Armed Forces and other relevant authorities with a unique platform, was launched on June 15, 2010, by a decision of the Defense Industry Executive Committee (SSİK).
The GÖKBEY General Purpose Helicopter, capable of operating effectively in the most challenging climates and geographies, at high altitudes and high temperatures, and in both day and night conditions, is being designed and manufactured using national resources and capabilities. Based on the knowledge, experience, and talent pool gained during the ATAK Program, the Indigenous Helicopter Program involves the design and production of structural and avionics systems, as well as critical systems such as the transmission, rotor, and landing gear, entirely using national resources.
Due to its wide range of capabilities, the helicopter will be able to perform transport, VIP, cargo, air ambulance, search and rescue, and offshore transport missions.
The first General Purpose Helicopter developed and produced with domestic resources, GÖKBEY, successfully completed its first flight on September 6, 2018 at 06:00, and is expected to enter mass production in 2021.
