The ANKA-3 unmanned combat aircraft, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), has taken another significant step in its development process.
ANKA-3 demonstrated a successful performance in its first taxi test, which took place on April 26, 2023.
ANKA-3 is a platform with many advantages thanks to its flying wing structure, including low radar visibility, high speed, and high payload capacity. Equipped with a total of 7 weapon stations inside the fuselage and under the wings, ANKA-3 can carry different types of ammunition.
Manufactured using reinforced carbon fiber composite materials, the ANKA-3 has a larger wingspan and is capable of flying at a higher altitude than previous ANKA models. Furthermore, although no official statement has yet been made regarding the full specifications and production dates of the ANKA-3, TUSAŞ officials have stated that they plan to conduct the first flight of the ANKA-3 in the first half of next year.
The ANKA-3 is also planned to be used as an unmanned combat aircraft. With this feature, it is believed to play an important role in Türkiye's security. The development of the ANKA-3 is being carried out as part of TUSAŞ's unmanned aerial vehicle development program.
