The ANKA UAV system has begun its flights with new capabilities, Electronic Warfare and Intelligence Systems (ELINT and COMINT), in addition to its SAR Radar, Weapon and Camera Payloads.
Flight tests of the “ANKA” Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System have been ongoing since December 30, 2010, and a serial production contract for 10 aircraft (ANKA-S) was signed in October 2013. Work on the ANKA-S Project is progressing successfully, and the System Requirements Review meeting was successfully completed in February 2014, accelerating design activities.
Parallel to this, integration activities for the SAR/ISAR/GMTI radar are continuing within the scope of the Block B configuration. Tests with this system have been carried out since the second half of 2014.
The message was posted on the official Twitter account of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey's Undersecretariat for Defence Industries.;
