TÜBİTAK has announced the results of the first call of BiGG Investment 2026. Of 2,844 applications, 91 entrepreneurs received the Seal of Excellence, and 3 clean technology ventures became eligible for TL 2.25 million in investment.

The Italian Air Force will procure 6 units of the Astore Levante, produced by LBA Systems, the joint venture between Baykar and Leonardo. The platform, based on the TB3, will use ROKETSAN munitions.

The second phase of TÜBİTAK UZAY's MİYOKA experiment has been completed. The module, on which lead-free soldering was carried out in space, will be brought to Earth aboard SpaceX CRS-35. Türkiye has proven its in-space manufacturing capability.

MKE's 20 kW Fibre Laser Weapon System destroyed a drone target at a distance of 760 metres with pinpoint accuracy during Ateş Serbest-2026. The system offers a cost-effective solution in close-in air defence.

TAI General Manager Demiroğlu said: "When KAAN emerges, no one will remain on the scene. We are building it so that we don't have to use it." KAAN is planned to fly this year. Spain will buy 15 more HÜRJET aircraft.

Arçelik and İTÜ have signed a three-year cooperation protocol. The agreement, covering joint R&D, technology transfer, internships, mentorship and graduation projects, brings 253 years of scientific accumulation together with industry.

TEI General Manager Akşit announced that foreign electric vehicles are not permitted onto the campuses of ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN and TEI. He drew attention to the risk posed by drive-by-wire and software control.

A contract for 150 ATAK vehicles has been signed between Karsan and İETT. The 8-metre vehicles are positioned specifically for Istanbul's narrow streets and hilly routes. The first delivery is in January 2027.

ROKETSAN has introduced the ŞİMŞEK-2 satellite launch vehicle. Measuring 40 metres in length with a 1,500 kg capacity, the vehicle will carry satellites into sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 700 km. The first test of ŞİMŞEK-1 is in 2027.

TÜBİTAK UZAY's national satellite imagery portal Gezgin has been renewed. It is now available with e-Government integration, RASAT and GÖKTÜRK-2 imagery, a new interface and a ZIP download feature.
