Türkiye's first indigenous communications satellite, TÜRKSAT 6A, has been operating in orbit for two years since its launch on 9 July 2024. The engineering expertise acquired will form the foundation for TÜRKSAT 7A.

The Ministry of Industry and Technology has announced the HIT-30 programme. Defence technologies will receive $5 billion, with substantial budgets allocated for electric vehicles, chips, batteries, quantum technologies and robotics. Tax incentives of up to 60%, grants of up to 20% and public procurement guarantees will be offered.

ROKETSAN has integrated a seeker head onto the TAYFUN ballistic missile for the first time. In a test conducted with the Block-3 variant, the missile struck a moving target with pinpoint accuracy. This capability, possessed by only a handful of countries worldwide, was employed for the first time in Türkiye.

ROKETSAN's SUNGUR Air Defence Missile System successfully destroyed its target with a direct hit during a live-fire test. Haluk Görgün: "We are reinforcing our layered air defence architecture with new capabilities."

The decision to stay the payment demand of 230 million Romanian Lei against Otokar in Romania has been finalised. The appeals court ruled in Otokar's favour, rejecting C.N. Romtehnica S.A.'s objection.

Defence and aerospace exports reached $802.8 million in June, a 29.6 per cent increase, while over the past 12 months they surpassed the $11 billion mark for the first time. In the first half of the year, total exports amounted to $4.7 billion.
