Within the scope of the ZAHA Project, 9 Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicles (ZAHA) developed by FNSS for the Turkish Naval Forces Command (DzKK) have been delivered.

“The ”ZAHA Vehicles Delivery and Improved Armored Personnel Carrier (GZPT) Modernization Project Signing Ceremony” was held on Friday, May 26th, at the FNSS Defence Systems Inc. (FNSS) Gölbaşı facility, with the participation of the President of the Presidency of Defence Industries of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir.

ZAHA is Türkiye's first and only domestically produced amphibious vehicle, serving as a force multiplier for the marines. The project began with a contract signed between the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and FNSS on March 7, 2017. The aim of the project is to develop a domestic and national vehicle to meet the amphibious operation needs of the Turkish Naval Forces. A total of 27 ZAHA vehicles will be produced and delivered to the Turkish Naval Forces as part of the project.

ZAHA vehicles are designed to enhance the amphibious operational capabilities of the Turkish Navy and to ensure coastal security. ZAHA vehicles can reach speeds of 7 knots on the surface and 70 km/h on land, and can carry 21 personnel. They are also equipped with advanced technology such as a 12.7 mm remotely controlled weapon system, a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher system, a smoke grenade launcher system, and a laser warning receiver.

ZAHA araçlarının motor tipi dizel, transmisyonu otomatik ve muharebe ağırlığı 30 tondur. Araçların uzunluğu 8.3 metre, genişliği 3.3 metre ve yüksekliği 3.8 metredir. Araçlar suda 13 km/s sürat yapabilmektedir. Araçlar %40 yan eğim, %60 dik eğim tırmanabilme, 90 cm dik engel aşabilme ve 2 metre hendek aşabilme kabiliyetlerine sahiptir.

The ZAHA Project is a significant achievement demonstrating the domestic and national production capacity of the Turkish defense industry. These vehicles will serve the Turkish Navy in the service of world peace and security, and will strengthen Türkiye's naval power.

Improved Armored Personnel Carrier (IAP) Modernization Project

FNSS also signed a contract with the Presidency of Defence Industries for the Improved Armored Personnel Carrier (GZPT) Modernization Project. Within the scope of the project, 52 GZPTs in the inventory of the Land Forces Command will be modernized by equipping them with new technology subsystems.

The GZPT Modernization Project aims to ensure that the GZPTs delivered by FNSS to the Turkish Armed Forces in the early 2000s, which have served in numerous operations, can continue to operate with high performance for at least another 20 years.
