The first Turkish intelligence satellite, GÖKTÜRK 2, will be launched from China.

Türkiye, fırlatma teknolojisine sahip olmadığı için ilk istihbarat ve keşif uydusunu Çin’den uzaya gönderecek. Bu ülkeyle 20 milyon dolarlık anlaşma sağlandı. GÖKTÜRK 2 ‘nin fırlatılma tarihi Aralık 2011.

GÖKTÜRK 2 projesinde 2,5 metre aralıklı nesnelerin fotoğraflarını çekebilen bir uydu geliştirildi. Sistemin kamerası Güney Kore’den alındı. Geri kalan tüm imalat Türkiye’de gerçekleştirildi. Uydu, ilk testleri başarıyla geçti.
