In the 11th annual Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC), held this year in Utah, USA, the Pars Rocket Team, representing Istanbul Technical University (ITU), placed 6th with their rocket named ISTIKLAL.
In the competition, which consisted of two categories, ITU was represented by the Pars Rocket Team and the Lagari Thrust Rocket Team. Both teams participated in the Basic category, which aimed for an altitude of 10,000 feet (approximately 3 km). The Pars Rocket Team, reflecting their three years of experience, reached an altitude of 11,252 feet and successfully completed the required tasks. In the competition, which was judged based on criteria such as presentation, design, and originality, the Pars Rocket Team placed 6th.
