Pakistani military officials said that speculative reports regarding the ATAK T-129 agreement between Türkiye and Pakistan were unfounded.

According to a report on TRT World, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media arm of the Pakistan Army, stated that speculations regarding the cancellation of Pakistan's agreement to purchase T-129 ATAK helicopters from Türkiye are unfounded.

ISPR Director General Major General Babar Iftikhar, while outlining Pakistan's defense procurement needs, stated that the Pakistani armed forces are continuously enhancing their capabilities and improving their technology while remaining aware of threats and operational requirements.

ISPR said in a statement on Friday, “A statement made by the ISPR General Manager in response to a question regarding Pakistan’s agreement with Turkey for the purchase of T-129 ATAK helicopters has been misinterpreted on some digital media platforms.” The statement continued, “It has been clarified that Pakistan has never rejected the purchase of military helicopters from Türkiye. All speculation on this matter is unfounded.”.
