Today was an important day for Türkiye's defense industry. The National Combat Aircraft, Hürjet, Gökbey helicopter, ATAK 2 helicopter, and ANKA 3 were showcased to the press at a ceremony held as part of the "Century of the Future" program.
Speaking at the ceremony, which was also attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Erdoğan announced that the name of the National Combat Aircraft has been determined as "KAAN" and that the person who suggested the name was Devlet Bahçeli, the chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party.
During the ceremony, the National Combat Aircraft and the Hürjet taxied on the runway for a short time after their engines were started. The demonstration once again showcased the advancements in Türkiye's defense industry. In his speech, President Erdoğan emphasized the success of Türkiye's localization efforts in the defense industry, underlining that the country will progress in every field by utilizing its own resources.
