World Space Week, celebrated in 66 countries and coordinated in Türkiye by Türksat A.Ş., brings together public institutions, civil society organizations, schools, and universities.
Turkey achieved a great success at the World Space Week 2007 events, coordinated nationally by Türksat and attended by 66 countries, ranking first in the world in 'participation in events', second in the world in 'number of events', and fourth in the world in 'media impact'.
Türksat, which also coordinated the 2008 events, organized 'Exploring the Universe Conferences' and the 'Hazerfen Spacecraft Model Competition' in 65 different locations across Türkiye. In March 2009, the UN Office for Outer Space, in collaboration with the WSWA Presidency, published a report in Vienna evaluating the 2008 World Space Week events.
‘In the report, which evaluated factors such as 'Media Impact of Events', 'Number of Participants', and 'Number of Events', Türksat ranked first in the world for 'Number of Participants', surpassing other countries. It also secured second place in the 'Media Impact' category and third place in the 'Number of Events' category. Following these achievements for two consecutive years, Türksat was accepted into the WSWA Board of Directors, marking another milestone for our country.
