Elektral Elektromekanik, operating in Izmir, has developed an X-ray device that identifies suspects, eliminating the need for composite sketches in incidents. The device has already begun being used at airports in cities such as Erbil, Vienna, and Bangladesh. In the future, plans are underway to add a feature to the device, called "ThruScan," that will report wanted individuals to the police.
SMEs focusing on green R&D and innovation are achieving great success. Elektral Elektromekanik AŞ, operating in the İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone (İAOSB), has produced a high-precision walk-through metal detector (x-ray). The device, equipped with a camera, takes photos and videos of passersby, identifying their physical characteristics. It also records the location and time of the incident. In the event of an incident, the device allows access to the database to retrieve the physical characteristics without the need for robotic sketches. The device, called "ThruScan," will greatly facilitate the apprehension of criminals or wanted individuals. Dr. Erdem Dinçsoy, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elektral Elektromekanik AŞ, stated that they are one of the world's three largest metal detector manufacturers and that they produced the walk-through metal detector with physical characteristics after 16 months of R&D and innovation work. Dinçsoy noted that the device has begun to be used in high-security areas and many airports.
